In 2008 Obi co-founded AppZone with a focus on the broader view of providing technology to empower people with unlimited access to quality financial services. From inception Obi has led AppZoneâ€™s stellar growth and consequent emergence as Africaâ€™s leading provider of home-grown Banking and Payment software.
Obi is currently focusing on AppZoneâ€™s imminent expansion into Africa through recent International partnerships and investments. Prior to his startup activities, Obi had brief stints with SIOtel Nig. Ltd and 21st Century Ltd, serving in both companies in the capacity of system administrator and network engineer respectively.
His entrepreneurial drive led to the setup of Ceerom Ventures, a table water production and manufacturing business enterprise which he co-founded in 2005. At the same time his passion for IT resulted in his foray into the electronic prepaid airtime distribution. In 2006, he championed the development of Nigeriaâ€™s premier mobile airtime distribution service. This gave birth to the RechargePlusÂ® brand, a web and mobile based service for prepaid airtime purchase.
Emeka is also a co-founder of Appzone Limited and his immense contribution and business insights has spurred Appzone to its present height in a short while.
Previously, Wale served as Head, Research & Development of Parkway Projects Limited and was responsible for performing research, recommending solutions and leading a team of application developers. While in his then capacity as Head of Research & Development, he was instrumental in the facilitation of applications that enhanced the services of financial institutions.
He also worked with the Nigerian arm of Enliven Solutions USA; a Software solutions company, where he served as lead software developer.
In 2008, Wale Co-founded AppZone, initially registered as Price & Networks Limited, where he is the executive director in charge of Technology, a position he has held since the conception of the organization.
After a short stint as a lead software developer at Parkway Projects, he moved over to AppZone where he assumed responsibility for the engineering of mission critical financial applications from concept to production, most notably AppZoneâ€™s flagship cloud platform; BankOne.
As the current Head of AppZoneâ€™s shared technology division, he is now responsible for executing the technology roadmap of the company. This translates into broad oversight of multiple teams focusing on various functions including shared applications development, PaaS development, cloud automation, testing, service desk, security and IT infrastructure.
His current forays include adapting applications for scale, reliability and high performance.â€¨Ogonna holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Nsukka, Nigeria (UNN).
He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science from University of Abuja and an MSc. degree in Computer Science from University of Ibadan. He is a member of Computer Professionals of Nigeria (CPRN), International Cyber Threat Task Force (ICTTF), and Project Management Institute (PMI). His professional qualifications include ISEB (ISTQB) Certified Tester, Project Management Professional, ITIL Service Management (ITSM), Oracle Certified Database Professional
Damolaâ€™s diverse experience in the information technology and financial services industries spans over seven(7) years covering key areas around process improvement and automation, IT governance, project management, database management, service management, software testing, quality assurance, strategy management and IT research.
Before joining Price & Networks (now AppZone) at its inception, he worked in Parkway projects where he served as a lead software developer.
Amidu has close to 10 years of experience in modelling, design, and implementation of enterprise level e-banking and payment software. In addition, he has been exceptionally successful in various leadership roles ranging from unit head of single technology teams to group head leading multiple related teams that work together. His exposure and innate nature have provided a foundation for him to become a very effective divisional leader and member of the executive team in AppZone.
He led the development of the Channel Manager suite of applications under the BankOne Brand and spear headed the integration of the BankOne core banking application to the commercial banks as well as the various e-banking and payment processors available in the industry today.
He presently heads the Retail Banking Cloud Division and has driven the transformation of the BankOne brand from near obscurity to strong market leadership, partnering with most of the commercial banks and e-payment service providers to achieve this.
Elendu is, by training, a software solutions architect, product developer and business analyst. He designs and leads the development of highly applicable business solutions that enhance the overall operational efficiency, effectiveness and bottom-line of client businesses. â€¨â€¨He believes Africa is the next frontier, with untapped opportunities, that have remained locked mostly due to key “infrastructural” gaps. As such, he actively leads the design, development, and commercialization of robust financial technology platforms at an “infrastructural” scale.
Elendu currently Heads AppZoneâ€™s Mobile Payments Division with over 6 years of experience in delivering financial services solutions across various sub-domains including payment card issuance & Issuer processing, corporate payments and collections, general financial process automation and payment card acquirer processing.
Olajide is a young dynamic, seasoned chartered Accountant, Tax expert, Financial Analyst and Economist, with over 15 years experience in both public and private sector accounting. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Agoâ€“Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and A member of Information Security And Control Association (ISACA)-Serving IT Governance Professionals.
He has a mandate to execute AppZoneâ€™s corporate finance strategy and lead AppZoneâ€™s finance functions towards attainment of best operational practices and reporting standards, as well as continuous improvement, re-engineering and end-to-end automation.
Prior to AppZone, he was the Head, Finance and Account, Mediplan Healthcare Limited (formerly Southern Rose Healthcare Services Ltd) one of Nigeriaâ€™s leading Health Maintenance Organizations with national spread and due accreditation by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
